Happy Easter everyone! Space news!!!!

It might seem a little late to some, but for us its Easter Monday today :)

So, 2009 is turning out to be an interesting year for space flight. I am so excited about the kepler mission! The kepler space telescope is named after this guy:

Johannes Kepler (December 27, 1571 – November 15, 1630) was a German mathematician, astronomer and astrologer, and key figure in the 17th century scientific revolution.

Or so Wikipedea says :D

And the telescope looks like this:

The Kepler Mission is a NASA space telescope designed to discover Earth-like planets orbiting other stars

You can see the rocket launch on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-g44uA8kKwQ

And now for a man I am very, VERY envious of... Charles Simonyi, a Software architect & two time "Space tourtist" from Hungary.

Mr. Simonyi took his second flight to space in March 2009 and spent time aboard Soyuz TMA-14, to return Earth on April 8.

Btw Mr. Simonyi has an awesome website that you can contact him on! http://www.charlesinspace.com/index.cfm

So thats about it for today :) Im going to be on youtube fixing my page for the next couple of horus. http://www.youtube.com/user/GUAlliance

Greatings!

Hello everyone, my name is Skevi (Ske - vee) and I come from Larnaca, Cyprus.

I have started this blog to talk about the new online community ( which I'd rather refer to as an International Community) that (I hope) will be ready by late August/September.

I'd also like to talk/rant a little about new technologies, space, and anything and everything else.

OK! Lets start with why I am creating this new community.

Well quite basically, I want to create a safe, fun place for all people to join in "alliance" for a good cause, be it helping the elderly, making new ideas or designing a new technology. I'd like to have a group of friendly people who can get along online without the usual profanities.

There will be a hierarchical system that will give members the opportunity to gain points to advance & receive various discounts. Members will also recieve recognition & awards for their work.

Members (both free & paid) can enter in the many competitions that we will host, open to all members, anywhere in the world. The prizes could be consumer goods, cash or contacts with the companies offering the competitions.

They will be different departments each focusing on different sectors (engineering, education etc).

Theres really lots more to say, but for now I will leave you with a couple of pictures & a link to my YouTube page where I have posted a few videos on GUA.

http://www.youtube.com/user/GUAlliance All friends & questions welcome! :)
